Our multi-day adventure on Lake Powell commenced with a wave of nostalgia, as memories of past expeditions flooded my mind. With Bill at the helm of our houseboat, we embarked on a journey of exploration and discovery, eager to uncover the hidden gems that awaited us on the tranquil waters of Lake Powell.

Rediscovering Old Memories:
As we cruised along the meandering river, surrounded by towering canyon walls, I couldn’t help but reminisce about my childhood adventures on Lake Powell. The constant changes in water level had transformed the landscape over the years, revealing new treasures and hidden canyons waiting to be explored. With classic rock playing in the background, I felt a sense of peace and contentment, knowing that I was back in my happy place.

Arrival at The Rincon:
Our first night was spent at The Rincon, a picturesque spot believed to have been formed thousands of years ago by the mighty Colorado River. As we docked our boat for the night, our dog Lennon wasted no time in finding his spot to dig and explore the sandy beach. With excitement in the air, we set up our chairs and propane firepit, ready to indulge in an evening of stargazing and relaxation.

Embracing Tranquility:
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, we sat in silence, marveling at the beauty of the night sky. The tranquil sound of the water lapping against the shore and the gentle rustle of the breeze filled the air, creating a sense of peace and serenity. In that moment, surrounded by loved ones and the natural beauty of Lake Powell, I felt a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to embark on this adventure.

Day one of our Lake Powell journey was a nostalgic beginning filled with memories old and new. As we settled in for the night, under a blanket of stars, I couldn’t help but feel excited for the days ahead and the adventures that awaited us on this magnificent lake. With anticipation in our hearts and a sense of wonderment in our souls, we drifted off to sleep, eager to continue our exploration of Lake Powell’s hidden wonders.
