Embarking on an epic adventure deep into the heart of the San Juan Mountains, Bill and I set out to explore the breathtaking alpine lakes along Hurricane Pass and conquer the rugged terrain of Poughkeepsie Gulch. Our journey promised to be a thrilling exploration of Colorado’s pristine wilderness and majestic mountain vistas.

Traversing Corkscrew Pass:
Our adventure began as we navigated the winding roads and steep switchbacks of Corkscrew Pass, ascending to dizzying heights of 12,244 feet. As we climbed higher, the air grew thinner and the views more spectacular, offering glimpses of the rugged landscape that lay ahead.
