Returning to the rugged beauty of Utah for the Labor Day holiday weekend, I found myself immersed in the tranquility of nature once again. This marks my fifth trip to Utah this year, a testament to my deep connection to this breathtaking landscape. Joining me on this adventure are my companions Bill and Greg, as we embark on a camping excursion at Flaming Gorge Reservoir, nestled in the northern reaches of the state. With the promise of scenic vistas and star-filled skies, we eagerly set up camp under the cover of darkness, eager to greet the dawn and uncover the natural wonders that await.

Arrival Under the Stars:
Arriving at our campsite late in the evening, the landscape around us was shrouded in darkness, yet the twinkling stars above provided a mesmerizing spectacle. With the soft glow of our campfire illuminating the surrounding area, we set up Greg’s tent and situated our trailer for a night under the open sky. Despite the limited visibility, the sense of anticipation for the adventures that awaited us was palpable.

A Lakeside Awakening:
As the first light of dawn began to filter through the trees, I emerged from the trailer to be greeted by a breathtaking sight: our campsite boasted a stunning view overlooking the tranquil waters of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. The stillness of the lake mirrored the calmness of the morning, creating a serene and idyllic setting to start the day. With the sun casting its warm glow across the landscape, we gathered around for a leisurely breakfast and soak in the natural beauty that surrounded us.
